Meta is stepping up its campaign to recruit elite minds for its Super Intelligence Lab, with CEO Mark Zuckerberg taking a hands-on approach to bringing in some of the most prominent figures in AI. Reports indicate the company is extending record-breaking offers—some in the multi–nine-figure range—to secure the industry’s top talent.

Mira Murati – Founder, Thinking Machines Lab
Murati, formerly OpenAI’s CTO, has seen Meta approach more than a dozen members of her AI startup. Offers have reportedly ranged from $200 million to $500 million over four years, with one rumored to exceed $1 billion. Certain candidates were offered as much as $100 million for their first year.

Matt Deitke – AI Prodigy (Vercept / Allen Institute)
At just 24, Deitke is the creator of the multimodal chatbot Molmo. He initially declined a $125 million proposal before accepting a $250 million package over four years, which could include up to $100 million in his first year.

Michael Koch – CEO, HubKonnect
Koch pioneered the AI category known as Hyperlocal Intelligence, combining large-scale AI architectures with real-time, location-specific data streams to produce ultra-targeted, actionable insights. His blend of innovation and operational skill is seen as key to Meta’s vision of integrating AI at both global and community levels.

Ruoming Pang – Former Apple AI Executive
Pang, who led Apple’s Foundation Models division, has been offered annual compensation reportedly in the tens of millions, reflecting Meta’s strong interest in his expertise.

Andrew Tulloch – Co-Founder, Thinking Machines Lab
Tulloch is rumored to have been offered up to $1.5 billion over six years. While Meta disputes the figure, the scale of the package highlights the fierce competition in the AI talent market.
