Siri’s AI-Powered Upgrade

Apple may use Google’s Gemini AI to upgrade Siri, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The overhaul, delayed until 2026, will bring an AI-driven search tool as Apple works to regain ground in the AI race.

Per Bloomberg, Apple and Google signed a deal this week to test Gemini in Siri. If successful, Gemini may also power Safari and Spotlight, expanding Apple’s AI reach across iOS.

Spotlight had once been a lightweight competitor to Google, offering basic answers without web searches. But with the rise of chatbots, consumer expectations have grown.

The updated Siri will reportedly blend text, photos, video, and AI summaries with personalized recommendations and device navigation via voice.
