Warp Introduces Pair-Programming Experience with AI Agents

Warp has unveiled Warp Code, a new feature designed to enhance collaboration and transparency in AI-assisted coding. Modeled on pair programming, it lets developers follow AI changes, check diffs, and adjust code in real time.

The interface mirrors Warp’s standard format: a command input field, an agent response section, and a side panel detailing each change. Developers can make direct edits, highlight lines for context, and use Warp’s compiler to address errors. Founder Zach Lloyd said the objective is to ensure developers remain in control of AI output, reviewing and refining as needed.

The company faces competition from tools like Cursor, Windsurf, Lovable, and command-line platforms from Anthropic and OpenAI. Though Warp uses external AI models, it sets itself apart with its user-centric design. The startup continues to grow rapidly, boasting 600,000 active users and adding $1 million in ARR every 10 days.
